The museum collection consists of more than 700 items of various provenance.
The first group of objects comes from the ancient “treasure of Saint Donnino”: a collection of artifacts related to the veneration of the patron saint and to the furnishing of his ancient shrine. This includes sculptures and liturgical objects, some of which are exceptionally rare and valuable.
The second, larger group of objects constitutes the “Treasure of the Cathedral”: it includes items accumulated after the institution of a bishop’s seat in Fidenza, in 1601.
The third group includes items from various churches and parishes of the Diocese, mostly paintings and luxury items.
The fourth group includes everything that was left in legacy to the Diocese, such as items that belonged to former bishops or objects donated to the Museum after it was instituted.
